The region has seen a sleuth of countries reopen their borders to boost tourism. While Malaysia has taken steps in the same direction, some feel the government have taken a slower approach compared to its neighbours with the decision to fully reopen still up in the air. Malaysia now allows travellers to undergo a shorter quarantine period if they have received a booster shot. As of January 24, they only need to quarantine for 5 days instead of 10 for unvaccinated travellers.
Do I need a test to enter?
General arrivals will need a negative Covid-19 test to enter.

General arrivals will need to quarantine upon arrival, however, the duration will depend on your country of origin and vaccination status.
Malaysia’s mask mandate
All persons older than 1-year-old must wear a mask when out in public.
Social distancing
Face-to-face meetings are allowed with physical distancing, social gatherings/events are limited to 50% of the venue’s capacity.

All of Malaysia’s public transportation systems are operational, please note that you must wear a mask at all times.
