What to expect in Rwanda?

💉 Vaccine exemptions

Vaccinated travellers have reduced quarantine requirement(s).

These exemptions only apply to:
Travellers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated and their accompanying children younger than 18 years are allowed to self-isolate at home.

Details:
Effective 12 June, travellers no longer need to complete a Passenger Locator Form to be allowed entry into Rwanda, and to present a negative COVID-19 test result to depart the country by air.

🌡️ Testing requirements

You will need a formal Medical Certificate presenting a Covid-19 test from an accepted establishment taken prior to your departure from the first embarkation point.
On Arrival you will be required to complete a test for Covid-19, the cost borne by the traveller

Details:
Travellers entering or transiting through Rwanda must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. Ther are subject to a PCR test upon arrival and an antigen test on the third day, at their own expense

😷 Quarantine requirements

General arrivals will be required to quarantine for up to 3 days. Quarantine is to be served at a dedicated facility (costs borne by traveller)

Travellers are subject to self-isolation at a designated hotel for 3 days at their own expense.
