The region has seen a sleuth of countries reopen their borders to boost tourism. While Malaysia has taken steps in the same direction, some feel the government have taken a slower approach compared to its neighbours with the decision to fully reopen still up in the air. What’s New? 

Malaysia now allows travellers to undergo a shorter quarantine period if they have received a booster shot. As of January 24, they only need to quarantine for 5 days instead of 10 for unvaccinated travellers.

General arrivals will need a negative Covid-19 test to enter.

Will I need to quarantine when I arrive? 

General arrivals will need to quarantine upon arrival, however, the duration will depend on your country of origin and vaccination status.

All persons older than 1-year-old must wear a mask when out in public.

Face-to-face meetings are allowed with physical distancing, social gatherings/events are limited to 50% of the venue’s capacity.
